Fat Ass Race Information

Welcome to the Meadow Bear Adventures Fat Ass Races! These events are free, self-supported races that offer an opportunity to test your endurance and enjoy Seattle in a laid-back, no-frills atmosphere.

While these races are free, donations are always appreciated and go directly towards supporting future events and keeping our community running.

Race Details:

  • Placing: There will be a top 3 overall winners, but no sub-categories. In order to be considered for placement, you will be required to submit your GPS file after the race to verify your completion.

  • Navigation: This is an honor-system based race. There will be no race directionals, and participants must navigate the course themselves. A GPX file of the course will be available before the race, so runners can upload it to their watches. A backup map is expected in case of technology failure.

  • Course Changes: Please note that race maps may be subject to change due to construction or unforeseen circumstances. Any course changes will be announced the week of the race.

  • Safety and Rules of the Road: The roads are open to traffic, so all participants must follow the rules of the road and take necessary precautions to stay safe during the event.

  • Honor System: Cutting the course is strictly prohibited. We trust our participants to run the full course as laid out.

Thank you for participating in our Fat Ass Races—where the spirit of the event is about community, challenge, and enjoying the journey. We can't wait to see you out there!

Land Acknowledgment

Meadow Bear Adventures acknowledges that the land we host our events on is the ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Duwamish, Suquamish, and Muckleshoot Nations. We honor their enduring relationship with the land and waters, which has been sustained for thousands of years.

We recognize the history of displacement, colonization, and the resilience of Indigenous peoples. We also recognize that the land we traverse during our events holds deep cultural, spiritual, and historical significance to these Nations.

As we run, hike, and explore these lands, we are reminded that our actions must foster respect, inclusivity, and a deeper connection to the natural world. Meadow Bear Adventures is committed to working in collaboration with Indigenous communities, amplifying their voices, and supporting the ongoing efforts to protect, restore, and honor the lands that sustain us all.

We offer this acknowledgment as a step toward understanding and reconciliation, and we are committed to ensuring that all people, regardless of background, feel welcome, valued, and respected in the outdoor spaces we share.
