Diversity and Inclusion Policy
At Meadow Bear Adventures, we are unwavering in our commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in every facet of our events and operations. We believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, neurodiversity, body size, socioeconomic background, or any other factor. Our aim is to cultivate an environment where all participants feel not just welcomed, but truly valued and respected as integral members of our community.
Inclusivity for All Athletes:
Meadow Bear Adventures extends a warm invitation to athletes of all abilities, backgrounds, and identities to join us in our pursuits. We are steadfast in our dedication to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive space where every individual can thrive and embrace the joys of outdoor adventure.
Accessibility: We are committed to ensuring accessibility for athletes of all abilities. We encourage inquiries from participants requiring specific accommodations and will work collaboratively to address their needs and ensure an unforgettable experience.
Neurodiversity: We recognize that athletes with neurodiversity may have unique needs. We are committed to exploring ways to support these athletes and ensure their participation is enriching and fulfilling.
Inclusivity for People Who Menstruate and Pregnant Athletes:
We recognize and honor the unique needs and experiences of people who menstruate and pregnant athletes within our community.
Menstrual Products: We will provide access to a variety of menstrual products at all aid stations throughout the course.
Pregnant Athletes: Pregnant athletes have the option to defer their participation in MBA events for up to two years, allowing them the flexibility to prioritize their health and family needs without sacrificing their passion for outdoor adventure.
Inclusivity for Transgender and Non-Gender-Conforming Individuals:
At Meadow Bear Adventures, we affirm and celebrate the identities of transgender and non-binary athletes.
Transgender Inclusion: Transgender individuals will be fully accepted at face value of their registered identity, without the need for burdensome proof or validation.
Non-Binary Recognition: Non-binary athletes will have their own designated race category awards, ensuring that every participant feels seen, heard, and celebrated for their unique journey.
Acknowledgment of Indigenous Peoples:
We humbly acknowledge the indigenous peoples whose ancestral lands we have the privilege of traversing during our events. We recognize the deep connection between indigenous communities and the natural landscapes they steward and honor their traditional territories with the utmost respect and gratitude. As a gesture of reciprocity, each Meadow Bear Adventures event will allocate resources to give back to the lands and respective communities that graciously host us.
Zero Tolerance for Discrimination:
Meadow Bear Adventures maintains a steadfast commitment to upholding a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination, harassment, or intolerance of any kind. We are steadfast in our resolve to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment where every participant feels safe, respected, and valued, free from the specter of bigotry or prejudice.
By continuously evaluating and improving our approach, we strive to make Meadow Bear Adventures a model for inclusivity within the endurance sports industry. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the transformative power of trail running, and we are dedicated to creating a space where all athletes feel empowered to push their limits and embrace the beauty of the natural world.
